Want to cook with Kirin J? Face The Music announces more speakers, sets and sessions

The latest additions to the Face The Music’s program include sessions with KEXP’s Cheryl Waters, industry legendLindy Morrison, as “musician’s musician” Yeo, as well as a Yarra cruise DJ’d by Chippy Nonstop and a retrospective on 11 years Rock City withHerald Sun’s resident music writer, Mikey Cahill.

The summit’s latest announcement also promises:

• There’ll be a dance workshop with choreographer extraordinaireAmrita Hepi.
• A live cooking demonstration with special guest chefKirin J Callinan.
• An industry exclusive screening of the Her Sound, Her Story documentary.
• An introduction to mindfulness & meditation with wellness coachSacha Stewart.
• An exploration of virtual reality with Dutch LCD Soundsystem collaboratorRoel Wouters.

She was the drummer in The Go-Betweens from 1980 to 1989 in addition to making sizeable contributions to Australian culture via her writing, activism, social work and politics, the marvellousLindy Morrison.

David Ridlerhas held three different positions with NZ On Air throughout his lengthy tenure. A NZ music ‘plugger’ in the early 2000s, the Assistant NZ Music Manager from 2008-2012, and now he heads up NZ On Air’s music funding and promotions work.

The definition of a “musician’s musician”, in the wake of the release of his new album ‘Desire Path’, we welcome genre-defying independent artist/producer & music directorYeo.

She has had her writing featured in publications including Rookie, frankie, Daily Life and Vice, we interrupt Vietnamese- Australian writerGiselle Au-Nhien Nguyenfrom working on her first book to join us at Face The Music.

When twilight blankets the city on Thursday night, Live Music Safari begins. You get to roam the city, see some of the greatest bands in the country for free. Our contribution this year stretches two stages.
