Ella Langley Ties Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey on US Chart

Ella Langley has tied a major record in the US.

The breakout star's breakout hit “Choosin' Texas” has now reached the level of Whitney Houston's “I Will Always Love You” and Mariah Carey's “We Belong Together”. 

According to new data (as per Rolling Stone), Langley's hit now ties those classics as the only singles from solo women to spend 14 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100. 

The only song to last longer at the top of the chart is another Carey classic, “All I Want for Christmas”, which spent 22 weeks at No. 1. 

There's a long way to go for Langley's song to catch that record, of course, but it doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon, nor is its creator. 

Langley just played the biggest show of her current tour yet last week (July 16th), playing a sold-out date in Hamilton, Canada, where Madeline Edwards and Avery Anna joined her as support acts. 

Langley also has three of the top 10 spots on the current Hot 100, with “Be Her” occupying the No. 3 spot and her Morgan Wallet collaboration, “I Can't Love You Anymore”, making it to No. 7. 

Langley is joined in the top 10 by the likes of Stella Lefty ("Boston", No. 6) and Taylor Swift “(I Knew It, I Knew You”, No. 2). 

Another Langley song, “Loving Life Again”, a standout track from her second album, Dandelion, is also garnering major play on country radio.
