Australian audiences to experience INXS’s most successful album in Dolby Atmos
INXS fans in Australia will have the chance to experience the band’s seminal albumKick in a completely new way, thanks to a one-off event to be held in Sydney later this month.
As part of the Dolby Atmos INXS Kick Audio Experience, the audience will hear the iconic album mixed by two-time Grammy Award winning producer Giles Martin in Dolby Atmos sound for the first time in Australia.
The new audio technology first debuted in 2012,with R.E.M’s 1992 albumAutomatic for the Peoplethe first major music release to utilise Dolby Atmos with a remix marking the album’s 25th anniversary inearlier this year.
Dolby Atmos delivers a “full immersive sound mix, bringing a new dimension of clarity, fidelity, space and energy”.
“You can hear this album like you’ve never-before,” says Giles Martin of his new mix.
“You can hear Michael so close to you, you can hear his breath. You feel like you’re in the studio with the band. You have a record that’s 30 years old, but it’s been taken in a completely new direction and you can listen to it in a completely new way and it becomes new again. Great music and great songs, they don’t get old.”
The event will take place as part of the album’s 30th anniversary on Tuesday October 24,2017 at Event Cinemas George Street, Sydney.
