The Australian Recording Industry Association is opening its doors to a new group of independent labels and music companies through the return of its Membership Inclusion Programme.

The initiative is open to Australian independent record labels and music companies owned or run by people from underrepresented groups, including women and non-binary people, First Nations people, culturally or linguistically diverse (CALD) people, people living with a disability and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

It marks the second edition of the programme, which first launched in December 2023 and awarded five independent labels complimentary ARIA memberships for 18 months. This time around, ARIA has extended the membership period to two years.

“Following the success of our first Membership Inclusion Programme in 2023, we're proud to bring this initiative back and back the future leaders of Australian music," ARIA CEO Annabelle Herd said.

"The Membership Inclusion Programme - and extending the membership offering - is another way we can help ensure we have the right voices in the room to reflect the true diversity of this industry."

Successful applicants will also have the opportunity to meet with the ARIA team and learn more about the organisation, including how the ARIA Charts are compiled and how releases can qualify for entry into the ARIA Awards.

Applications are now open here and close on September 14th, with successful applicants to be notified on October 1st. Existing ARIA members are not eligible to apply.
