Applications have opened for BIGSOUND 2014, as well as early bird registrations for the event.

Held between September 10-12 this year, BIGSOUND is routinely regarded as one of the world’s premier music conferences. This year marks the 13th incarnation of the event, with last year’s BIGSOUND seeing luminaries such as Nick Cave, Billy Bragg, and Amanda Palmer speak, while Brisbane favourites Robert Forster and Regurgitator performed.

The 2013 event also saw the introduction of BIGSOUND Music+Design, expanding the event to sit in line with other international festivals.

“BIGSOUND has a history of facilitating amazing international outcomes for Australian artists and it’s our aim to focus even more on making the event an international export launchpad” says programmer Nick O’Byrne. “The conference will explore the essence of what it is to be a contemporary artist in Australia as well as investigate cutting edge technology, emerging genres and topics that will shape the future of our industry. BIGSOUND will set the tone one of the world’s most dynamic music markets."

Applications to play at BIGSOUND close May 9.
