Angie and Joe Geia Move Into The Top Spots in The Community Radio Charts

The Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts provide insight into what’s gaining airplay and attention on community radio. The charts show the top ten tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through the Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service. This week sees Angie rise into the top position in the Amrap Metro Chart, with Joe Geia moving up to #1 in the Amrap Regional Chart.

Sydney’s Angie slides up to #1 with A Ring, which appears in the Amrap Metro Chart for the second week. Angie’s third album Shyness was RTRFM Perth’s Feature Album of the Week and also appeared on 2SER Sydney’s Servin’ Up. A Ring has received airplay support from Voice of the Avon and 107.3HFM in WA, 5 Triple Z, Fleurieu FM, Radio Alexandrina and Three D Radio in SA, 96.5 Inner FM, 3NRG, OCR FM, and PBS FM in VIC as well as 2BOB, Yass FM, 2OCB, Northside Radio and Edge FM in NSW.

Joe Geia has risen to #1 in the Amrap Regional Chart with North South East & West. The reggae-roots track from the Gold Coast-based artist has received airplay across all of Australia, including at CAAMA in the NT, Radio Mama and Voice of the Avon in WA, Gin Gin’s Own, Noosa Community Radio, and Fraser Coast FM in QLD, Radio Alexandrina, Tribe FM, Umeewarra Media, 5 Triple Z and Three D Radio in SA, Bay FM, 2BOB, 2AIR, Highland FM, Eastside Radio, 2EAR, 2MCE and Radio Skidrow in NSW, as well as 98.9 North West FM, 96.5 Inner FM, Castlemaine District Radio, 3NRG, 3WAY, 3OCR and 3CR in VIC.

The Pink Tiles are sitting at #2 with Time For Love, with the track appearing for the sixth week in the Amrap Metro Chart. The Melbourne-based act stopped by Test Pattern on Triple R Melbourne to chat about their second album #1 Fan. They discussed the difficulty of writing and completing the album, playing the Melbourne Fashion Festival, and the broad spectrum of music which influences their sound. Kirsty Lee Akers takes out #2 this week in the Amrap Regional Chart with Wake Me Up When You’re Sober. The country-roots single has received airplay from Voice of the Avon and Radio Mama in WA, Northside Radio, Highland FM, and 2OCB in NSW, Gin Gin’s Own, Radio 4YOU and Fraser Coast Community Radio in QLD, 3WAY FM, 99.9 Voice FM, and 3RPP in VIC, as well as 5 Triple Z, Coast FM, PBA FM, and Radio Alexandrina in SA.

Melbourne’s Shrimpwitch make their debut in the Amrap Metro Chart with Lust For A Kick taking out #3. Shrimpwitch took part in PBS FM Melbourne’s Drive Live Extravaganza in February, with their energetic, punk garage-rock live-to-air performance available to listen to here. Lust For A Kick has been added to RTRFM’s Sound Selection and also received further airplay from 107.3HFM in WA, Yass FM in NSW, PBA FM and Three D Radio in SA as well as 106.7 Phoenix FM and 3WAY-FM Great Ocean Radio in VIC.

The Sideshow Brides debut at #3 in the Amrap Regional Chart with Red Light Eyes. Brisbane’s Waax are featured in the Amrap Metro Chart for the third week, with Nothing Is Always taking out #4. The furious-rock track was included on FBi Sydney’s New Music List, Edge Radio Hobart’s New Music List and 4ZZZ Brisbane’s Top 20, alongside further airplay from CAAMA in NT, Moranbah Community Radio and Noosa FM in QLD, RTRFM, Voice of the Avon and 107.3HFM in WA, 3MDR, 3 WAY-FM Great Ocean Radio, 3OCR and 3WBC in VIC, Fleurieu FM, Tribe FM, 5 Triple Z, PBA FM and Three D Radio in SA, as well as 2SEA, Yass FM, 2SER, Bay FM, Northside Radio, TLC-FM and 2BOB Radio in NSW.

Rachael Leahcar makes her debut in the Amrap Regional Chart with What They Don’t Tell You charting at #4. Casii Williams appears in the Amrap Metro Chart for the fourth week, with How Can I Live taking out #5. The Desert Divas Volume II compilation, which featuresHow Can I Live, was listed as PBS FM Melbourne’s Feature Album of the Week and was also included on Triple R’s Soundscapes and 2SER Sydney’s Servin’ Up. The lush-electronic How Can I Live was included on FBi Sydney’s New Music List, and earned radio airplay from CAAMA in NT, Gin Gin’s Own in QLD, 107.3HFM, Voice of The Avon, and Radio Mama in WA, Umeewarra Media, 5 Triple Z, Fleurieu FM, Tribe FM and Radio Alexandrina in SA, 2AIR, SWRFM, Eastside Radio, Nambucca Valley Radio, FBi Radio, Bay FM and Edge FM in NSW, as well as OCR FM, 96.5 Inner FM, Radio Murrindindi, Voice FM, Tribe FM, 99.9 Voice FM and Main FM in VIC.

The Wilcannia Mob: Intergeneration move up to #5 in the Amrap Regional Chart with Our Country, Our Way. Jackson Reid Briggs and The Heaters enter the Amrap Metro Chart at #9 with When Are You Going To Give Up On Me. The garage-rock love song features on PBS FM Melbourne’s Top Ten, earning more airplay from Voice of The Avon in WA, Yass FM in NSW, 3WAY-FM Great Ocean Radio, and 96.5 Inner FM in VIC as well as Three D Radio and PBA FM in SA.

Davidson Brothers make their debut in the Amrap Regional Chart at #9 with Take A Little Drive. John McNamara continues his appearance in the Amrap Regional Chart, with Bad Reputation taking out #10 this week.
