Amrap Chart Wrap: Thigh Master and Ben Mitchell Top Community Radio Charts

The Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts provide insight into what’s gaining airplay and attention on community radio. The charts show the top ten tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through the Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service. This week sees Thigh Master and Ben Mitchell take the top spots.

Thigh Master take #1 in the Amrap Metro Chart for the second week running with Company having picked up spots in SYN Melbourne’s Sweet 16 and RTR FM Perth’s Sound Selection. Their frontman Matt Ford joined Ian from Brighten the Corners on his hometown station 4ZZZ Brisbane, debuting tracks from the album. Listen back here. Ben Mitchell has climbed to #1 on the Amrap Regional Chart with his song in support of #KeepCommunityRadio. Last year Ben stopped by Southern FM in VIC to play a 17 track live set as part of the station’s Sunday Sessions podcast. Montaigne has retained the #2 spot in the Amrap Metro Chart and entered the Regional stakes at #6 with Because I Love You, having picked up spots in SYN Melbourne’s Sweet 16 and FBi Radio Sydney’s new music list. The track has racked up further airplay at stations including Fleurieu FM in SA, Gin Gin’s Own in QLD, Noongar Radio in WA, UG FM and 3YYR in VIC, as well as Valley FM, 2SSR, 2RRR, SWR FM and 2MCR in NSW.

Benny Walker comes in at #2 in the Amrap Regional Chart and has also climbed to #7 in the Metro Chart with Oh No You Don’t. Benny has visited SYN Melbourne in the past, chatting with Mason, Stormy and Madeline about what makes his album Sinners & Saints stand out from his previous releases and how travel has inspired his songwriting. The Gooch Palms debut at #3 in the Amrap Metro Chart with Ask me Why having picked up spots in SYN Melbourne’s Sweet 16 and FBi Radio Sydney’s new music list, as well as feature record on Melbourne station PBS FM. James Blundell enters the Amrap Regional Chart at #3 with When the Lights go Out. The song has racked up airplay in every state and territory at stations including Gove FM in NT, City Park Radio in TAS, KCR FM and Radio Mama in WA, 5 Triple Z and 5YYY in SA, 2MIA, 2WCR, 2MTM, 2TLC, 2MWM, Highland FM, Valley FM, 2AIR and Northside Radio in NSW, North West FM, 3CH, 3WAY and Voice FM in VIC, as well as Burnett River Radio, Noosa Community Radio, Rainbow FM and Coast FM in QLD.

Sarah Mary Chadwick takes #4 in the Amrap Metro Chart with Makin it Work, having picked up spots in RTR FM Perth’s Sound Selection and FBi Radio Sydney’s new music list. The New Savages have held onto #4 in the Amrap Regional Chart with Down the River Blues. The duo stopped by The Juke Joint on PBS FM Melbourne to chat about their 25-date tour and putting a unique Australian spin on traditional American songwriting. Mark Lavender has risen to #5 in the Amrap Regional Chart with Running from the Rain feat. Kathryn Coad. The husband and wife duo joined Bill Beerens for a chat on the Community Radio Network’s (CRN) nationally syndicated breakfast show Good Morning Country.

Christopher Port has entered the Amrap Metro Chart at #6 with Heavens. Port recently dropped by the FBi Click studio to do a guest mix for Purple Sneakers and has picked up spots in RTR FM Perth’s Sound Selection and FBi Radio Sydney’s new music list.

Bears with Guns take #7 in the Amrap Regional Chart in their third charting week with Let Go. Rob from the band called into The Hoist on SYN Radio to chat about their new EP and experimentation in their music. Listen back here.

Dope Lemon debuts at #8 in the Amrap Metro Chart with Marinade having picked up spots in SYN Melbourne’s Sweet 16 and FBi Radio Sydney’s new music list. Watch the film clip as featured via Amrap Pages on 5PBA in SA’s station website.

Vera Blue takes #8 in the Amrap Regional Chart with Fingertips. Check out her GIF in support of #KeepCommunityRadio as shared on her Facebook page. The single has amassed airplay across the country at stations including Tjuma Pulka FM in WA, JOY 94.9 Melbourne, ArtSound FM Canberra, Coast FM and Fleurieu FM in SA, Hot FM, 94.7 The Pulse, 3NRG, Inner FM, and 3MGB in VIC, as well as 2EAR FM, 2RDJ, Valley FM, Bay FM and TLC FM in NSW.

Winterbourne have entered the Amrap Metro Chart at #9 with But I Do having picked up a position in SYN Melbourne’s Sweet 16. Earlier this year the band were interviewed and performed live on Home Brew Radio, an all Aussie music program broadcast across the country on the CRN each week.
