Amazon rolls out Alexa “activities” for music playback
Amazon has rolled out “Activities”, a feature that allows users of Alexa-enabled devices to play music according to what they’re doing.
Its Echo smart speaker system is made exclusively through Prime Music and Music Unlimited.
It identifies 500 different activities. Meditation is the most popular, making up 27% of requests.
It was followed by dinner, party, and focus. “Sexy country” is also right up there, most requested between 5—6 pm.
Other highly ranked requests are “Alexa, play hooking up music,” “Alexa, play music for naptime,” and “Alexa, play music for getting pumped.”
Classical music can be more powerful for some than heavy metal. So it’s no surprise that classical is in demand for working out in the gym or jogging as for soothing you to sleep.
“Alexa, play baby-making jazz music,” shows Alexa can be obliging about everything.
