“I’m planning an Australian tour now,” Adele told an audience member at her show inSt.Paul, Minnesota.

The global chart record breaker was speaking to an Australian woman who had flown to the US to join more than 18,500 fans at the Xcel Energy Center on Tuesday.

According to EW.comAdele got offstage to offer the fan free tickets to a planned Sydney show: “Why don’t we get your info and when the Sydney show happens you can come, on us,” she told the woman.

The 28-year-old singer just as quickly backtracked however, saying: “Well, if the tour happens… I always announce things when I’m not supposed to!”

Local promoters and her label team at Remote Control Records are either tight-lipped or just unawareofan upcoming tour. Remote Control told TMN: “We are not aware of a tour of Australia by Adele.”

While Adele didn’t let slip of an approximate month or even year when she would visit Australia, her US shows run right through until November. It’s likely she could be in the country just before Christmas, but, as pointed out by Sydney Morning Herald, it’s more likely she’ll arrive in Australia’s peak touring season next February to escape the British winter.

Regardless of when it happens, Adele’s first ever Australian tour is picked to be a box office smash given the fervour of her local fanbase.

Adele’s latest and third ARIA #1 album, 25, moved 150,000 units (double Platinum) in Australia in its first three days. The record is now 8x Platinum in Australia with 560,000 units sold. Her second album21 hit the 30 million global mark back in February, 1 million of those were sold in Australia.

Her comeback single Hello went to #1 in 30 countries, including Australia, where it’s now 6x Platinum with 420,000 units sold.

TheAdele Live in New York Citylocal screening drew 830,000 metro viewers back in May, ranking the ninth top show of the night.
