New World Artists Signs The Screaming Jets (EXCLUSIVE)
The Screaming Jets get airborne through a new deal with New World Artists, The Music Network can exclusively reveal.
Experienced tour promoter and booking agent Owen Orford will represent the rock veterans.
The team, he says, is “thrilled to represent The Screaming Jets who, much like AC/DC, remain authentic to their genre and purpose, to deliver a power rock show crammed with anthemic crowd moments.”
It’s this “ethos,” adds Orford, “that has seen the band garner a legion of loyal fans and an audience who adore them for it. We can’t wait to unveil the next phase of The Screaming Jets.”
Hailing from Newcastle and led by Dave Gleeson, the band has notched six ARIA top 10 albums, dating back to their 1991 debut All For One, which peaked at No. 2.
It was the second single from the album, The Screaming Jets’ signature song “Better,” that introduced the outfit to the world and saw them embark on their first major international tour, visiting Europe and North America.
Their 10th and most recent studio album, Professional Misconduct, was released in July 2023, following the death of founding member Paul Woseen. Professional Misconduct peaked at No. 3 on the ARIA Australian Albums Chart.
“Better” was recently named by Triple M Sydney as the most played single by an Australian artist in its 37-year history, with more than 10,000 spins.
Founded in 2006 and boasting offices in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, New World Artists’ roster includes Allday, Anna Lunoe, Diesel, Frenchy, Grinspoon, Mallrat, British India, Nats What I Reckon, Sneaky Sound System, Spiderbait, Thy Art Is Murder and Silverchair.
“We’re really excited to begin this new chapter,” says the band of the independent booking agency and Orford, who has repped the likes of Hoodoo Gurus, Jimmy Barnes, Icehouse, Killing Heidi, Savage Garden, and others.
“It’s awesome to be joining such a great roster of Australian acts. We are really looking forward to collaborating with them and exploring new opportunities together.”
Upcoming concert dates include the “Rock The Boat 2024” cruise this October.
