New streaming platform offers Aussies more music documentaries

Australian fans are set to stream more music documentaries with the arrival of iwonder.

The documentary and current affairs streaming service is offering 500 hours of content.

Ready to watch from this week are music and entertainmentdocumentaries, as well as sports, history, politics, science and technology, religion, movies, nature, war and biographies.

Costing $6.99 a month, it is accessed through smart TVs, computers and mobile phones.

It is offering a trial month of free membership and simultaneously.

iwonder also launched in New Zealand and Singapore this week.

“We are passionate about connecting the best of the 30,000 or so documentaries produced each year, so many of which fly under the radar without Hollywood marketing budgets, to audiences that are increasingly migrating to streaming,” says iwonder co-founder and CEO James Bridges.

Bridges was previously Foxtel’s head of content for On Demand and Presto until 2014.

Among its music offering is Rolling Stone: Stories From The Edge, a series about the iconic US magazine, and one on Perth band Screwtop Detonators.

The iwonder channel has previously launched to 15 million users via the iflix platform in Southeast Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
