Terry McBride’s Nettwerk signs “hypnotic storyteller” Didirri
Didirri makes two drops today – new single ‘Blue Mood Rising’ and a new overseas record deal which set to expand his profile around the globe.
He is already signed in Australia and New Zealand to UNIFIED Music Group for recorded music, has now joined Nettwerk for the rest of the world.
Didirri joins fellow Australians Angus and Julia Stone, Boy and Bear, Mallrat, Japanese Wallpaper and Jack River on McBride’s roster.
Sameer Sadhu, A&R at Nettwerk, says: “We are thrilled to welcome Didirri to the Nettwerk family.
“He is a hypnotic storyteller who channels a rare marriage of nostalgia and modernism.”
Mark Jowett, co-founder, Nettwerk Music Group adds: “Didirri has captivated everyone at Nettwerk.
“He is a magnetic performer with profound songs and an unforgettable voice, and we couldn’t be more honoured to be tasked with sharing and promoting his music to the world.”
The signing was finalised at BIGSOUND in Brisbane earlier this month, and brought together executives from his local and overseas labels.
Luke Logemann, on behalf of the UNIFIED team, said:” “UNIFIED is thrilled to continue our ongoing relationship with the incredible talent that is Didirri, and to continue to watch him grow and evolve as a career artist.
“We are also excited to see the team grow and to work with our friends at Nettwerk as we all seek to spread the word about Didirri all around the world.”
The new deal completes Didirri’s core extended team, with management (Hutch Collective’s Larissa Ryan & Josh Milgate), Paradigm Talent Agency’s Tom Windish for North and South America, Tom Taafe for UK & Europe, and Four Tone Artists and Adam Montgomery for Australia & New Zealand.
BMG Australia is his publisher for Australia & New Zealand and oversees administration for the rest of world.
Didirri is enthused about how the pieces have fallen together around the world.
“I am honestly humbled by my entire team and their collective experience and passion.
“I recognise that my team working together is a huge part of my ability to do this long term.
“I’m incredibly grateful for all the interactions I have had with Nettwerk and I’m excited to see how things grow with them on board.
“It’s a privilege to have met and to work with such great people in Berlin, London, Los Angeles and Vancouver, I’m keen for the future, and I know we’ll take care of each other.
“I am so happy to have a global team that all think deeply about music, that’s all I could ever ask.’
The performer, who has generated 30 million streams, toured the US and UK twice in under 6 months.
‘Blue Mood Rising’ was made with producer Dann Hume, whose name is listed in the credits in music by Amy Shark, Matt Corby, Tash Sultana and Troye Sivan.
