Native Tongue Music Publishing appoints Jess Barlow as licensing manager

Native Tongue Music Publishing has announced the appointment of licensing specialist Jess Barlow as its new licensing manager.

Barlow joins the Native Tongue Music Publishing team with 11 years experience under her belt, working across music publishing and licensing for a number of major and independent labels in Australia, the UK and Canada, including EMI Music, Universal Music Publishing, Alberts and Warner Music.

She was last employed as the licensing manager for Sony Music Australia, having been announced in the role last July.

Barlow will join client relations’ Denise Sharp in Native Tongue’s Sydney office, and will work alongside creative manager Sabrina Robertson, NZ GM Pennie Black and Campbell Revie in Native Tongue’s licensing team.

Jamie Gough, Native Tongue’s managing director, celebrated the appointment of Barlow, highlighting her strategic prowess and experience in licensing administration.

“We’re happy to have found such a talented licensing professional in Jess, who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the company,” Gough said.

“Jess’ bubbly personality and drive to achieve results for songwriters and artists will see her right at home at Native Tongue.”

Barlow also noted her own enthusiasm at the prospect of expanding Native Tongue’s domestic presence.

“It is incredibly exciting to be joining the Native Tongue family. To work with their amazing international catalogues and dynamic ANZ roster is a privilege and I am thrilled to be able to continue to build on their impact and growth in the global and domestic music scenes,” Barlow said.
