Mushroom Music Publishing has announced it will represent the catalogue of US singer-songwriter Kehlani.

The Grammy-nominated artist, who broke out in 2015 with her You Should Be Here mixtape, has inked a deal with Mushroom for Australia and New Zealand.

“I’m so happy to be with Mushroom, I feel like I picked a company that has a great track record and an amazing team,” Kehlani said.

She followed up her debut mixtape with full-length 2017 record SweetSexySavage, which landed on several end-of-year lists by the likes of Pitchfork and Rolling Stone.

Kehlani has since dropped the follow-up It Was Good Until It Wasn’t which debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the Billboard R&B Albums Chart.

“Kehlani is a R&B and Pop trailblazer, an advocate for womxn, inclusive and compassionate,” Mushroom Music Publishing managing director Linda Bosidis said.

“Unafraid to speak her mind, she uses her platform to uplift others and bring awareness. Acknowledging the traditional owners of Australia, Kehlani wore a First Nations Flag t-shirt when she toured here.

“Her live shows are energetic and her song writing supreme. At 25 she has accomplished so much already and is constantly raising the bar.”

Kehlani is also a prolific songwriter, with credits on tracks by Post Malone, Cardi B, G-Eazy, Calvin Harris, Justin Bieber, Eminem, Disclosure, Zedd, Megan Thee Stallion, Charlie Puth, Khalid, Zayn and more.

“It’s a privilege to represent Kehlani in Australia & New Zealand,” Bosidis said of the signing.

“She is an authentic artist and a gifted writer with boundless creative vision.

“It’s that same authenticity and creativity which we are truly passionate about and feel closely aligned with. We couldn’t be prouder to be working together.”
