Global music industry summit MUSEXPO won’t proceed this month.

In a statement sent to media on Thursday morning, organiser Sat Bisla said the shift to pandemic status by the World Health Organisation has put the LA-based event in limbo.

“It is with much sadness … that we must announce that MUSEXPO Creative Summit 2020 is being postponed until a later date,” read the statement.

Organisers said the decision was made out of concern for speakers, showcasing artists, delegates, sponsors and MUSEXPO staffers.

A number of high profile executives were due to appear at the conference.

The first round of speakers included leaders and innovators from all facets of the worldwide music, digital and media landscape.

MUSEXPO was scheduled run over four days in Burbank from March 22-25 in 2020, forming part of California Entertainment Week.

The week-long series of events also includes the Global Synch & Brands Summit, A&R Summit and Worldwide Radio Summit, with many Australian delegates making the trip annually.

“I’d like to thank our generous sponsors, showcase artists, speakers, delegates, my MUSEXPO staff, and the team at Castaway and S.I.R. Studios for what would have been an amazing event.

“In the interest of all concerned, we must do the right thing and postpone this event.

“That date will depend on the course of the (COVID-19) pandemic and how quickly it comes under control and everyone feels good about travelling and interacting with others.”

All registrations will be carried over and fully-transferable to the new dates.

“We will notify everyone as soon as we have a confirmed date. We hope everyone will remain safe during this unprecedented health emergency,” added Bisla.

AllAccess.com have also joined MUSEXPO in postponing Worldwide Radio Summit 2020.

TMN is the Australian trade media partner of MUSEXPO.
