Melanie Dyer holds the #1 song at Australian Country Radio
Melanie Dyer is ending the year on a high, with her recent release ‘Memphis T-Shirt’ racking up a second week atop the Australian country airplay chart.
The track rose to the top of the TMN Country Hot 50 last week, and remains #1 in its seventh charting week, having wrestled top spot from Aussie legend Lee Kernaghan.
‘Memphis T-Shirt’ is being backed in with high spin counts on country stations including KIX Country, ABC Country, Triple M Country, 98.9FM and more, with impressions up by 6% on last week.
It also spends a second week on the Australian Airplay Chart (at #40), having debuted at #32 a week earlier.
It’s Dyer’s fourth time cracking the Top 5 – after ‘Busy Doing Nothing’ and ‘Save My Cents’ both made it to #3 on the old TMN Country Airplay Chart – but just her second country airplay #1 after 2017 track ‘Fresh’.
Dyer is holding onto the top spot ahead of a rampant Morgan Evans (‘Diamonds’ at #2), searching for his first Country Airplay #1 of the year and his fifth of all time.
In fact, the Country Hot 50 is dominated by Aussies this week, with Kelsea Ballerini’s ‘homecoming queen?’ the only international. She gets a new peak of #3 in the track’s eighth charging week.
Lee Kernaghan falls to #4 this week with ‘Where I Wanna Be’, while Amber Lawrence’s ‘Hell To Hallelujah’ rises to #5.
The highest debut on this week’s chart comes from rising local act The Buckleys, as ‘I’m Comin’ For Ya (Love)’ bows at #19. They topped the old TMN Country Airplay Chart earlier this year with breakout single ‘Daydream’.
