Marshmello & Kane Brown land first #1 Aussie airplay hit

American producer Marshmello has achieved his first #1 single at Australian radio.

His crossover hit with country singer Kane Brown, ‘One Thing Right’, rises to the top of the latest TMN Hot 100 Airplay Chart powered by Radio Monitor in its 17th charting week.

It’s also Brown’s first #1 and his first Hot 100 charting single. He previously broke the Country Chart Top 10 with ‘Heaven’ and ‘What Ifs’ ft. Lauren Alaina.

Showing the power of the country crossover in 2019, the track has now gone higher than any of Marshmello’s pure pop hits. His best performing tracks were previously ‘Wolves’ with Selena Gomez (#3), ‘Happier’ with Bastille (#3) and ‘Silence’ with Khalid (#2).

‘One Thing Right’ topped the TMN Country Airplay Chart earlier this year, but the track took on a slower burn at mainstream commercial radio.

Mello and Brown jump four frames this week to summit the Hot 100 ahead of another country-crossover. Justin Bieber holds on to his peak position of #2 with Dan + Shay collaboration ‘10,000 Hours’.

The latest edition of the Hot 100 also sees a new peak for Lizzo’s 2016 track ‘Good As Hell’, which rises to #3 this week in its second coming after Ariana Grande lent her vocals to a new version of the tune.

‘Circles’ by Post Malone (#6), ‘Ride It’ by Regard (#8) and ‘Never Seen The Rain’ by Tones And I (#10) all break ground with new peak positions on the chart.

Dua Lipa lands the highest debut of the week as ‘Don’t Start Now’ bows  at#19, making it the British singer-songwriter’s seventh track to break the Top 20. Her highest-charting position to date came at #2 care of ‘IDGAF’ in 2018.

‘Don’t Start Now’ also topped TMN’s Most Added To Radio chart last week.
