Luke Logemann, Ex-Unified Music Group Exec, Launches Longview

Luke Logemann combines his passion for music and sustainability on a new venture, Longview.
The Melbourne-based independent music veteran launches his new consultancy and project management agency, which operates with a mission to make it easier for the industry to adopt more sustainable practices.
On launching Longview, Logemann writes on LinkedIn, “Having worked in and overseen a variety of music businesses, I know what it’s like to have the best of intentions but a lack of time and resources. Running a business in the music industry is rarely easy. It’s an ever-evolving riddle where the difference between success and failure often sits on a knifes edge.”
However, he continues, “it’s also an industry with huge reach and impact. When we make the right decisions for the planet, we can showcase new technologies, ideas and disciplines in a way that can influence meaningful change.”
First up clients include Good Things and Promiseland.
Logemann can wear multiple caps. He cut his teeth in the industry with Jaddan Comerford’s Boomtown Records, where he oversaw A&R, marketing and licensing.
With the creation of UNIFIED Music Group, Logemann served in multiple roles, including chief creative officer, and, most recently, general manager, recorded music.
He explored his passion for sustainability with Green Music Australia, where he serves as National Project Lead, and, earlier, started environmental science tertiary studies.
Logemann presented at Green Music Australia’s Earth Week campaign last year, for the Music Product Stewardship Alliance.
“I grew up listening to punk and hardcore music, and those songs and albums have a massive impact on the values I hold today,” he continues. “I’ve worked with artists and companies who promote sustainability and a love for nature, and those experiences were a huge influence on my life. I did half an environmental science degree when I was young, with the intention of cleaning up the ocean. The second I got the chance to work in music full time, I ran to the opportunity. I see this as a chance to work with the only two things I’ve ever considered working with.”
He named the business Longview “because I wanted to thread the needle between a punk song I love,” he comments, “and a name that makes sense for the business.”
More now than ever, he concludes, “Sustainability is Rebellion”.
