Lee Kernaghan secures seventh Aussie country airplay #1

Aussie Lee Kernaghan has etched himself further into country music history, landing his seventh Australian country airplay #1 song.

‘Where I Wanna Be’ featuring Kernaghan’s wife Robby X tops the TMN Country Hot 50 powered by Radio Monitor in its sixth charting week.

It’s his second #1 this year, after ‘Backroad Nation’ went to #1 on the old TMN Country Airplay Chart earlier in 2019.

Kernaghan’s first country airplay #1 was in 2002 when ‘Something In The Water’ topped the chart.

Since then, ‘I’m From The Country, ‘Missin’ Slim’ with Colin Buchanan, ‘Dirt’, ‘Outback Club Reunion’ and ‘Drive On’ have all summited the chart.

‘I’m From The Country’ has been his most successful single at radio, spending seven non-consecutive weeks at #1.

It’s a one-two finish for Aussie at the top of the Country Hot 50 this week, with Melanie Dyer’s new release ‘Memphis T-Shirt’ reaching a new peak of #2 on

There are also new Top 10 peaks for ‘Diamonds’ by Morgan Evans and ‘What She Wants Tonight’ by Luke Bryan.

The highest debut goes to East Coast duo Oh Harlow, former The Dennis Sisters, whose new release ‘Give It A Miss’ bows at #10.
