Kobalt signs RÜFÜS DU SOL to neighbouring rights deal

Kobalt has signed RÜFÜS DU SOL to an international neighbouring rights deal, offering a full range of global administration and royalty maximisation and update services.

The double Grammy-nominated trio joins acts including A$AP Rocky, The Chainsmokers, Lewis Capaldi, Kygo, Lil Wayne, Sia and Young Thug.

Simon Moor, managing director of Kobalt Music Group APAC, said today: “Being able to extend our relationship with RÜFÜS DU SOL, whom we currently publish, to include neighbouring rights is an exciting opportunity.

“RÜFÜS DU SOL continue to prove they are an artist of exceptional talent whether that be through significant bodies of work such as their sublime album Solace or through the power of their singles like ‘You Were Right’, ‘Innerbloom’ and ‘Treat You Better’.

“I am even more excited about the next steps for RÜFÜS DU SOL and look forward to working with them across 2021.”

Danny Robson, the band’s manager added: “This is an exciting chapter for RÜFÜS DU SOL, 10 years in their star continues to rise on the back of hard work, great songwriting and a loyal fanbase.

“We’re excited to extend the relationship with the Kobalt team – they have been crushing it as the band’s publisher for a number of years.”

The act’s international profile – already high after top-billing at Lollapalooza, Coachella and Osheaga among other festivals –
rose sharply this year after they were nominated for Grammys for best dance/electronic album and best dance recording for Solace, their third album.

Closer to home they were nominated at the ARIAs for best Australian live act.

Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George and James Hunt, have released two platinum- certified albums, Atlas and Bloom.

Their current release Live From Joshua Tree, both an album and film, was recorded in the Joshua Tree desert.

The trio has spent 2020 working on their fourth studio album, with new music in 2021.
