Hitmakers Khaled Rohaim and Te Whiti Warbrick join 1,000,000,000 List

Welcome to the club, Khaled Rohaim and Te Whiti Warbrick.

The production and songwriter pair, who pump out the hits under the name Twice As Nice, are elevated into the 1,000,000,000 List for their work on Rihanna’s song ‘Needed Me,’ lifted from her Billboard 200 chart leader from 2016, ANTI.

The award is given to APRA AMCOS members in recognition of more than one billion streams for a song, from all major digital platforms.

On Spotify alone, the track has passed 864 million plays, and YouTube has generated upwards of 288 million views.

Rohaim, Warbrick, and Twice As Nice co-founders Lewis Hughes and Nick Audino are credited co-writers along with international collaborators Robyn Fenty (Rihanna), Dijon McFarlane (Mustard), Brittany Hazzard, Charles Hinshaw, Rachel Derrus and Adam Feeney.

Audino and Hughes collected their awards last year in Los Angeles.

Based in Sydney, Rohaim has produced and composed for a long line of stars including Ariana Grande, Juice WRLD, Ty Dolla Sign and guided the develop of The Kid LAROI, who LP F*ck Love (Savage) is at No. 1 on the ARIA chart this week, earning the young rapper a piece of history.

Warbrick, aka SickDrumz, has worked with the likes of Lil Wayne, Future, Ty Dolla Sign and Post Malone, creating most of his work from his studio in Sanson, New Zealand.

APRA AMCOS CEO Dean Ormston presented the award to Khaled in the PRO’s Sydney office, and the New Zealand team is “looking forward to celebrating” with Te Whiti in Auckland in the near future.

“Honouring Khaled, Te Whiti, Nick and Lewis for the role they played in the songwriting and production of Rihanna’s ‘Needed Me’ drives home what this award is about – and that is showcasing the creators of a song that connects with fans globally,” Ormston comments.

“Twice As Nice are trailblazers for Australian and New Zealand music creators and I couldn’t be more proud to welcome them to The 1,000,000,000 List.”

Previous recipients include Nat Dunn (for Marshmello’s ‘Friends’), Dean Lewis and Jon Hume (‘Be Alright’), Flume (‘Never Be Like You’), Jake Mason, Ivan Khatchoyan, and Lance Ferguson (for Cookin’ On 3 Burners’ ‘This Girl’), Starley and P-Money (‘Call On Me’), Troye Sivan and Alex Hope (‘Youth’) Tones And I (‘Dance Monkey’), 5 Seconds of Summer (for ‘Youngblood’), Vance Joy (for ‘Riptide’), Gotye (for ‘Somebody That I Used to Know’), and Sia, Joel Little, and Sarah Aarons for multiple works.
