Kasey Chambers & Shannon Noll headline Groundwater 2020

The first lineup announcement has been revealed for the 2020 edition of Groundwater Country Music Festival.

The eighth edition of one of Australia’s most-loved country music festivals will be headlined by ARIA Hall Of Famer Kasey Chambers.

In what may be the biggest lineup to descend on Groundwater’s home turf of Broadbeach, she’ll be joined by a mix of bona fide country stars, as well as some rising stars.

Shannon Noll, the Sunny Cowgirls, Gina Jeffreys, Brad Butcher and The Audreys will all perform at the festival, which takes place from July 24-26 this year.

There’ll be 110 live music performances from nearly 50 acts across 15 stages across the three days.

“I’m so excited to return to Groundwater this July!” said Chambers.

“We absolutely loved playing to so many enthusiastic music fans at such a great festival last time. It’ll be so much fun and is always such a massive party atmosphere.”

A free event, Groundwater was attended by over 70,000 people over the three days in 2019, with over 130 hours of entertainment on show across Broadbeach’s streets, parks, bars and restaurants.

The event provides a significant boost to Queensland’s economy, with the 2019 event providing an estimated $8.46m boost for the state.

Groundwater Country Music Festival is offering a whole stack of accommodation options in 2020, from five-star hotels to self-contained apartments, and more.

The festival won a 2019 Queensland Tourism Award for the Festivals and Events category, cementing its place as one of Queensland’s best-loved attractions.

Other acts set to perform include The Pigs, Jade Denham, Melanie Dyer, Kristy Cox, McAlister Kemp, Eight Second Ride and Saltbushsix.

Presented by non-for profit entity Broadbeach Alliance and the City of Gold Coast, Groundwater aims to keep driving people to the region.

“Another stunning line up for Groundwater,” said Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate.

“This festival goes from strength to strength every year and it’s no wonder the very best talent in Australian country music keep coming back.”
