The Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts provide insight into what’s gaining airplay and attention on community radio. The charts show the top ten tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through the Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service. This week, Jess Locke debuts at #1 in the Amrap Metro Chart, with The Buckleys rising into #1 in the Amrap Regional Chart.

Jess Locke has entered the Amrap Metro Chart at #1 with ‘Universe’. Jess Locke joined Stephen Ferris on Mornings on FBi Radio back in May of this year. She chatted about her song-writing process, her musical inspirations, and delved into the development of her second album, which was very recently released via Pool House Records. Jess also performed a stripped back version of ‘Better/Bitter’, a track off her second album, Universe, live to air. Listen back to their chat here. Courtney Barnett & Kurt Vile debut at #2 in the Amrap Metro Chart with their collaborative track ‘Continental Breakfast’. Courtney Barnett phoned in to Triple R Melbourne whilst she was in Portland, to chat with Grant Davis of Test Pattern about her recent collaborative album Lotta Sea Lice, created with American musician Kurt Vile. She discussed how the project came to fruition, the additional energy the contributing musicians brought to the studio, covering each other’s songs, and how the album is translating into the live setting. Miss Blanks appears at #3 in the Amrap Metro Chart this week with the track ‘Skinny Bitches’. Listen to the audio for the hip-hop track, as featured via Amrap pages on station websites including 107.3 HFMin WA, FBi Radioin Sydney, 4ZZZ in Brisbane, WOWFM in SA as well as Triple Rin Melbourne. ‘Skinny Bitches’ was included in 4ZZZ’s Top 20 and SYN’s Sweet 16, with further airplay from PBS FM and OCR FM in VIC, as well as WOWFM and 5 Triple Z in SA.

Mia Dyson takes out #3 in the Amrap Regional Chart with ‘Gambling’, during the tracks’ fourth appearance in the charts. The track, which is the first taste from Mia Dyson’s new album, was included in SYN’s Sweet 16, with additional spins from Artsound FM in the ACT, Star FM and City Park Radio in TAS, 5GTR FM, 5 Triple Z and Fleurieu FM in SA, Harvey Community Radio, Voice of the Avon and KCR FM in WA, Beau FM, Noosa FM, Fraser Coast FM, 4ZZZ, Sunshine FM, and Radio 4EB in QLD, 2MCE, Northside Radio, Radio Norfolk, Nambucca Valley Radio, 2BOB Radio, Highland FM, Bay FM, TLC FM and 2ser in NSW, as well as 3WBC, Seymour FM, 3CR, 3WAY FM, 99.1 Smart FM, UGFM – Radio Murrindindi, 99.9 Voice FM, 3MDR, 3MGB, 3RPC, Eastern FM and OCR FM in VIC.

Debuting at #4 in the Amrap Metro Chart with the track ‘Today Tonight’ is Totally Mild. Paul Kelly enters the Amrap Regional Chart at #4 with ‘Rising Moon’. Paul Kelly, along with long-time collaborator Linda Bull, joined The Breakfasters on Triple R in Melbourne, where they chatted about their history with the station, with Paul Kelly revealing that he used to be a broadcaster and host a show on the station. Paul, Linda and also Vika Bull, played an intimate and emotional live performance for Triple R’s Radiothon. Listen back to the interview and performance here. HANDSOME debuts at #7 in the Amrap Metro Chart with the track ‘Late Night Ball Game feat. Joyride’. Brooke Russell and The Mean Reds debut at #10 in the Amrap Metro Chart with the track ‘Take A Little Time’. Brooke recently joined Homebrew on PBS FM in Melbourne, where she chatted about collaborating with artists in Nashville, the differences between Nashville and Melbourne’s live music scenes, and recording the new album The Way You Leave. Brooke Russell also performed a couple of stripped back tracks from the album, which are available to listen to, alongside the interview, here.
