Jen Cloher and Dan Sultan Continue Their Reign At The Top Of The Community Radio Charts

The Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts provide insight into what’s gaining airplay and attention on community radio. The charts show the top ten tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through the Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service. This week sees Jen Cloher once again take out #1 in the Amrap Metro Chart, with Dan Sultan also holding onto #1 in the Amrap Regional Chart.

Jen Cloher appears at #1 during her third week in the Amrap Metro Chart with ‘Regional Echo’. Dan Sultan has once again held onto #1 in the Amrap Regional Chart with ‘Kingdom’, during his fourth consecutive week in the charts. Moving into #2 in the Amrap Metro Chart is Gold Class with the track ‘Get Yours’. Evan and Adam from the band joined The Breakfast Spread on PBS FM in Melbourne to discuss Drum, the latest album from Gold Class. They chatted about the band’s development from a hobby to touring across Europe, their collaborative writing process and recording with Gareth Liddiard (of The Drones) who was able to push the sonic boundaries of the band. The Ocean Party have re-entered the Amrap Metro Chart with ‘More To Run’, with the track currently taking out #3. The Ocean Party’s latest album Beauty Point was included in 2SER’s SERvin’ Up and Triple R’s Soundscapes, with the charting track receiving an inclusion on FBi Radio’s New Music List. Karin Page makes her debut in the Amrap Regional Chart at #3 with ‘Lonely Night’. Karin joined John Regan on A Song For Everyone on Northside Radio, where she discusses the EP she released earlier this year titled Still Got You. Karin went into depth and chatted about the meaning of each track off the EP, her origins as a musician, and receiving mentorship from Lee Kernaghan. Black Cab has ascended to #4 in the Amrap Metro Chart with ‘Prelude’. Andrew from the Melbourne-based four-piece chatted with Test Pattern on Triple R in January, where he discussed their release Akira, which saw the band create a live alternative soundtrack to the classic anime film of the same name. Andrew discussed their live performances, which includes Taiko drumming, and how the incorporation of this element instilled theatricality to their shows.
