Independent Chart Wrap: Jarryd James holds tight to #1

Jarryd James remains at #1 on the Carlton Independent Music Charts (through any distribution) this week, as does Sia at #2 with Elastic Heart. Vance Joy’s Georgia hits a new peak of #3 up from #4. Hilltop Hoods maintain their hold on #5 with Live And Let Go featuring Maverick Sabre & Brother Ali. Only one debut takes place with Hillsong United’s Touch The Sky debuting at #7.

The Radio Play chart sees a stagnant Top 5 with Sia’s Elastic Heart maintaining its grasp on #1 though movement can be seen outside the bracket with British India’s Suddenly hitting a new peak at #6, as does Safia’s Counting Sheep up at #8 from #10. Three debuts take place outside the Top 10 with Daniel Johns’ Preach breaking at #13, Flight Facilities’ Down To Earth at #15 and Saskwatch’s I’ll Be Fine at #19.

Lee Kernaghans’ Spirit Of The Anzacs remains at #1, though it’s tailed by the only new debut in the chart this week, Courtney Barnett’s Sometimes I Sit And Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit,which debuts at #2. Hilltop Hoods’ Walking Under Stars moves back up to #3 from #5 while Troy Cassar-Daley’s Freedom Ride drops to #4. San Cisco’s Gracetown may be seeing its last week in the Top 10 after dropping to #10 from #7 in its third week in the chart while Sticky Fingers’ Land Of Pleasure re-enters the Top 20 at #19.
