Illy nabs Most Added title with Robinson feature ‘Lean On Me’

Illy is the seventh Australian to win TMN’s Most Added crown in 2018, with his new track ‘Lean On Me’ adopted heavily this week.

The new cut features singer-songwriter Robinson, with her catchy vocal style helping the track to find a sweet spot across both alternative and commercial radio.

“I’ve always had that pop sensibility with melodies, even going back to my mixtapes where I had melodies that no one else in the country was really doing in hip-hop,” he told TMN upon the single’s release.

An early triple j add gave Illy the early running for most added, and ultimately proved vital in a tight battle with Diplo’s new Jonas Brothers feature track ‘Lonely’.

Both tracks were playlisted to Hit National Nights, as well as Nova Sydney & Melbourne Daytimes, while a KIIS 106.5 add for Diplo made things close at the final siren.

Wide airplay over the week should see ‘Lean One Me’ crack the TMN Hot 100 sooner rather than later.

Illy’s most successful radio tracks have been ‘Catch 22’ ft. Anne Marie (#12 peak on the chart) and ‘Papercuts’ with Vera Blue (#14 peak), and with ‘Lean On Me’ cut from a similar cloth, we’re predicting big things from this one.

The Most Added Top 3 was rounded out by Flume’s new offering ‘Rushing Back’ featuring vocals by Vera Blue.

Meantime Maroon 5’s latest cut ‘Memories’ makes the Top 5 for the second week, with key additions for the track split over the last two weeks.
