Harbour Agency’s Jeremy Sharp Launches Craft Music Agency

Harbour Agency veteran Jeremy Sharp is behind a new, independent booking agency, established with digital marketing professional and former New Empire guitarist Peter Gillies.

Unveiled Monday (April 24), Craft Music Agency is based in Wollongong and boasts a busy roster, including Ben Lee, Jarryd James, Frente, Kate Miller-Heidke, Katie Noonan, Missy Higgins, Paul Mac, Short Stack, Vera Blue, The Whitlams and Xavier Rudd.

Sharp cut his teeth in the live space with Sydney-based The Harbour Agency, a former Mushroom Group division, almost two decades ago.

“I am immensely proud of my work at The Harbour Agency and eternally grateful for the opportunities provided to me during my time there,” he explains in a statement.

“It was Tony Grace Guarrera who showed belief in me as a young and passionate 19-year-old. Without him I wouldn’t have made it this far down the road.”

Gillies, a friend and former client of Sharp, tapped into a gap for marketers within the creative industry, launching the Craft Digital Marketing agency in 2018, serving as manager and founder.

Today, the team is a nine-strong unit of strategists, marketers, creatives, copywriters, analysts, problem solvers “and dreamers,” reads a statement on its site.

Projects have included Google ads campaigns for Roland, and Guy Sebastian’s T.R.U.T.H. Tour.

Craft Music Agency and Craft Digital Marketing will operate from the same premises in Wollongong, with immediate effect.

The new business’s philosophy “is to nurture and grow artists’ careers in a hands-on, personable approach,” reads the statement, and will plug into the infrastructure already in place, working with the marketing and design team’s expertise.

“Live performance is a place where artists can express their craft with the audience experiencing a pure moment in time,” comments Gillies.

“Curating these events is a genuine honour. I actually began my touring career with Jeremy by my side over 15 years ago and toured extensively throughout Australia and abroad. Jeremy and I share the same core values and passions and are overjoyed to be starting Craft Music together.”
