Guy Sebastian’s latest triumph is officially set in stone.

The Sony Music Australia-signed artist has conquered a contingent of international pop juggernauts to summit the TMN Hot 100 Airplay Chart with ‘Choir’.

Dean Lewis’ ‘7 Minutes’ is the only other Aussie track to reach the #1 spot on the chart this year.

Guy knocks Ed Sheeran & Justin Bieber off the chart peak, ending the seven-week reign of ‘I Don’t Care’.

He also overtakes Katy Perry (‘Never Really Over’) and Shawn Mendes (‘If I Can’t Have You’) in the process.

It’s a sweet victory for Sebastian, who gets the last laugh after being bested by Perry to the Most Added crown in June.

‘Choir’ is the Australian Idol winner’s fourth #1 on the Hot 100, after ‘Like It Like That’ (2009), ‘Battlescars’ ft. Lupe Fiasco (2012), and ‘Like A Drum’ (2014).

His most successful track at radio is ‘Like It Like That’ (2009), which remained at the peak for five weeks.

‘Choir’, which rises three frames this week, is an ode to former band member Luke Liang who passed away in 2018.

“I wanted something to celebrate him because he was so funny. Luke was such a good dude and so fun,” Sebastian told TMN earlier this year.

The singer recently wrapping up his time as a coach on the most recent season of The Voice Australia, performed at the 2019 Logies, and warmed up the crowd at State Of Origin game three.

He’s also gearing up for a national tour in September and October that takes in Adelaide, Perth, Hobart, Melbourne, the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Sydney.
