Former Island Records VP Cindy James named Head of Commercial Marketing for Caroline
In another power move, Australian-born music executive Cindy James takes on a lucrative position with Caroline.
Most recently the Vice President of Streaming & Playlisting Strategy at Island Records, James has been announced to be joining the Caroline/Capitol Music Group team, as Caroline’s new Head of Commercial Marketing.
In this newly created role, James will be leading Caroline’s commercial, artist marketing and commercial operations teams out of their Los Angeles HQ at the iconic Capitol Building in Hollywood.
It’s been a huge few years for James, who played an integral role in the success of international campaigns for the likes of Shawn Mendes, Dean Lewis and Demi Lovato – amongst others – with her work at Island Records.

Beginning her career in music in fields as varied as music journalism, artist management and promotions, James has been high flying at the top levels of the international industry for over ten years now.
Her clients have included massive global names including Calvin Harris and One Direction, while her new appointment at Caroline will see James connected with a respected and renowned roster of artists once more.
“Caroline’s reputation precedes itself, and the team is one of the strongest in the industry,” she has said. “I’m looking forward to delivering great results with them for our artists and label partners.”
