First international speakers announced for Cities After Dark 2018

Following on from last year’s inaugural Cities After Dark event, Global Night mayor advocate Mirik Milan and EMC have announced the first international speakers on the 2018 lineup.

Alongside Milan, talks will be heard from lord mayor Clover Moore, city of Detroit Night Time economy ambassador Adrian Tonon, London-based programmer and community manager Amanda Maxwell and co-founder of LA-based organisation Rhonda Internation, Loren Granich, with more speakers to be announced.

The event will delve into Sydney’s ongoing problem of diminishing nighttime culture with hopes that the international speakers will provide a global insight for solutions.

“A diverse and thriving nightlife is at the heart of all leading global cities,” Moore said.

“Many of the challenges we face in Sydney are shared by other global cities, so it is essential that we work together to share our knowledge and – most importantly – solutions.”

The city of Sydney has committed to a three-year run of Cities After Dark with its final event to take place in 2019.
