Ex-ABC Music exec Tim Holland launches artist services company

After seven-and-a-half years as A&R/Label Manager at ABC Music, Tim Holland has launched his own artist services company.

With a focus on artist development and project management, Bolder Music has launched with three artists: three-time ARIA nominee Jasmine Rae, who this year took out CMC’s Female Oz Artist of the Year award, contemporary Jazz artist Frances Madden and country artist Matt Cornell, who was this year nominated for CMC’s New Oz Artist of the Year award.

Holland finished up his post at ABC Music in March but told TMN it was after this year’s Tamworth Country Music Festival in January when he decided to create a business model for Bolder Music.

“I fundamentally love great music and have always ultimately wanted to create a music company that celebrates great music and works hard to get results for talented artists and industry stakeholders,” he told TMN.

“The current label business model has a very uncertain future so I wanted to create a business model for myself that allows the flexibility to work within a constantly evolving environment,” he added. “I also feel after 15 years in the music business it’s time for me take ownership of what I love doing and allow myself to work on a much broader variety of projects across many different sectors of the music business.”

While Bolder Music will heavily feature country music artists, Holland’s previous stints in advertising, community radio, trade media (he was Content Manager at TMN from 2004-2006) and independent retail has given him an interest in all genres.

Holland has also announced a partnership with Rusty Gate Films to create affordable music videos. Rob Cox, Rusty Gate Films co-creator and CMC Music Award-winning Producer and Director, has produced over 20 #1 Australian country music clips and has worked with Damien Leith, The McClymonts, Lee Kernaghan, Adam Brand, Troy Cassar-Daley & Adam Harvey and McAlister Kemp among others.
