A breakdown of the revenues from Ed Sheeran’s Divide world tour show that US$82.6 million of the record-breaking $776.2 million came from Australia.

The 2.5 year run of 255 shows ended up in his hometown Ipswich, with four shows.

Both Pollstar and Billboard confirmed the tour as the best selling in history with 8,882,182 ticket sales.

Due to a difference in calculations, Pollstar put the total gross at $775.6 million, and Billboard at $776.2 million.

Both agreed Sheeran toppled U2’s 360° Tour (2009-11), which shifted 7.3 million ticket stubs and a total turnover of $736.4 million.

Sheeran did 12 Australian shows between March 2 to March 21 in 2018.

At the time his promoter, Frontier Touring, said he had set a new Australian record with 1,006,387 – the highest for a single concert tour.

But this is the first time the $82.6 million Australian figure has been revealed.

Two shows at Perth’s Optus Stadium played to 114, 031 fans and grossed US$9,146,953.

One show at Adelaide Oval was to 62,915 fans who shelled out $5,103,599.
