Dua Lipa & 5SOS drop new albums, storm the TMN Hot 100

Three’s company for Dua Lipa and 5 Seconds Of Summer, with both acts cementing a trio of placings on the TMN Hot 100 this week.

The UK singer and Aussie boy band have both added a third single to the chart, the ideal situation for their respective labels a week after respective releases of Future Nostalgia and Calm.

Dua Lipa (Warner Records) is in rare form on the chart, securing three singles all in the Top 30.

‘Break My Heart’ is the highest debut, landing at #27 this week, joining ‘Physical’ (up five frames to #8) and ‘Don’t Start Now’ (down one place to #5) on the TMN Hot 100 powered by Radio Monitor.

Meanwhile the 5SOS lads (EMI) debut new cut ‘Wildflower’ at #55, with ‘Old Me’ already occupying the chart’s 51st spot.

The two singles are accompanied on the chart by 2018 single ‘Youngblood’ (#57) which is just four charts away from claiming 100 charting weeks.

Big-name international acts continue to dominate the Top 10, as The Weekend holds off the likes of Harry Styles, Jonas Brothers, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and Doja Cat to maintain a hold on the #1 position.

The Country Hot 50, meanwhile, has a new king.

6x Golden Guitar winner Travis Collins has claimed the top spot, with his cut ‘Weekend’ climbing four frames to the summit.

Collins keeps up a strong local contingent on the chart, and only Aussie artists have occupied the #1 position since the beginning of 2020 (Morgan Evans, Melanie Dyer, Brad Cox and Casey Barnes).

The Aussie artist will do well to keep a hold on the top spot, with the Dixie Chicks hot on his heels at #2 with their latest release ‘Gaslighter’.
