DJ Khaled tops the Hot 100, Rita Ora scores Most Added

After holding out at #2 for two weeks on the Hot 100, DJ Khaled’s I’m The One is officially radio’s top single. The track, with its quartet of massive guest names, ended the five-week stranglehold that The Chainsmokers & Coldplay have had on #1.

Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee keep setting new PBs each week with the Despacito remix now at #2. Serial guest Justin Bieber, who’s largely responsible for the success of the hit rework, now features on the two top spots of the Hot 100. The last time he cracked #1 was on Major Lazer’s Cold Water as a feature alongside MØ in late 2016.

The race for radio’s Most Added was contested by two standout players. As Rita Ora prepares to release her latest album, the first offering Your Song eventually pipped Martin Garrix and Troye Sivan’s There For You.

Written by Ed Sheeran and Steve Mac, Your Song was picked up across the board by all major commercial radio networks. Despite There For You being added to 40 more stations (148 overall), the weight of various Hit stations and the Nova network was enough to push Your Song over the line.

Last week’s #1 New Single Release, Sia’s Reaper, also did well at radio this week. However, its progress was stunted by the fact that many commercial stations added the track to their playlists last year.

Peking Duk have done it again.With a groove that creeps into your brain and a stellar international feature from AlunaGeorge, Fake Magicis a step ahead of the pack hitting radio this week.

The boys have really hit their stride with a string of new material.Strangerft. Elliphant has seen a myriad of success, clocking over 25 million streams on Spotify, while almost getting another million on YouTube. Locally, the track peaked at #5 on the Hot 100 while earning #1’s on the Dance, Alternative and Australian TMN charts.

Not to take away from the other solid hits due out. In all honesty, commercial radio is truly spoiled for choice. The latest from Lorde, Samantha Jade, Duke Dumont and Fifth Harmony will be eating away at MD’s for their attention (and their additions) – and will hopefully see more than two Aussie acts dotting the singles charts again.
