Ditto Music adds two new additions to its Australian team

The music distributor and record label services company which has worked with Tash Sultana, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Chance the Rapper, has beefed up its Australian team.

Ditto Music, lead by Sarah Hamilton across Australia and New Zealand, has welcomed Frank Varrasso as the new Radio Promotions Manager based at the company’s Melbourne office, and Jade Gould as the new Publicity Manager, based in Sydney.

The newly created positions will report in to Sarah Hamilton, Ditto’s Regional Manager Australia and New Zealand.

It’s a huge move for the global company as it further invests in a territory which helped to launch the careers of Australian exports like Tash Sultana, Baker Boy and Kian.

Sarah Hamilton said:

“I’m both thrilled and grateful to have Frank Varrasso and Jade Gould join the Ditto Oz team. With their decades of experience and expertise, I’m really excited about what we can achieve for our artists not only via playlists and distribution, but via press, radio and TV.

“I might be biased but I think we have some of the most exciting and diverse music coming out of Australia right now, and a lot of it has huge global potential which we’ve seen with artists like Kaiit, Kwame, Louis Baker, and others that Ditto have helped to launch such as Tash Sultana, Baker Boy and Kian.

“It’s important for us to have a diverse roster, and to partner with our artists and labels to help them achieve their goals both locally and on a global scale.”

Lee Parsons, Ditto Music CEO & Founder, said:

“We’re very passionate about the Australian music scene and committed to breaking artists both locally and internationally. Frank and Jade have such an amazing reputations worldwide and this a huge boost to our growing label services team.”

Frank Varrasso founded his own publicity firm Varrasso PR in January 2009. He also held the role as Senior Director of National Promotions and Publicity at Sony Music, and worked with Festival Mushroom, EMI and Warner Music before that.

Frank Varrasso said:

“I’m delighted that Ditto has provided me with the opportunity to work with their talented team. I am eager to make a positive contribution to a progressive company which is dedicated to fostering and developing the careers of artists both within Australia and internationally.”

Jade Gould has over 15 years of experience working in the label sector. She has previously held roles at Sony Music Entertainment, including as Director of Promotions, and in the publicity department at BMG Music.

Gould moves into the role of Publicity Manager after three years working as a Publicist at Revolutions Per Minute PR.

Jade Gould said:

“I’m thrilled to be joining Sarah and the Ditto Music family. I look forward to working with the global teams on providing creative publicity campaigns for Ditto artists at all stages of their careers and I’m excited to be involved in the expansion of such an innovative label and music distribution service.”

Ditto is far from finished expanding its Australasian outpost. Next month will see the company announce the appointment of an Australian Marketing Manager to provide strategic advice and campaign management support.

Ditto Music has also announced its publishing division today. As MBW reports, the new arm will operate in the same way the bigger publishers to and sign acts to collect royalties all over the world.

The firm is looking for Global Head of Publishing to launch the new division.

Ditto Music works with over 150 000 artists and labels globally, and has 22 offices across 19 countries, including in Melbourne, Liverpool, London, Los Angeles, Nashville, Stockholm, Johannesburg and Sao Paolo.
