Dew Process promotes Alex Young ahead of ‘another breakthrough year’

Paul Piticco’s Dew Process has made a string of changes to its team, including the promotion of Alex Young to General Manager.

For the past four years, Young has served as head of marketing with the record label and has enjoyed success leading campaigns for homegrown artists Mallrat, Eves Karydas, Tkay Maidza, WAAX, Tired Lion and more.

Young also oversee releases for Sam Fender, last year’s winner of Critics’ Choice honour at the Brit Awards, and New Zealand melodic indie pop outfit The Beths.

In announcing the staff changes, Dew Process CEO Piticco says the record company is on a high, with several of its signings going on to global success in recent times.

“We have had a fantastic few years with a new wave of Dew Process artists and I am extremely proud of the results we have been able to achieve not just here in Australia, but the inroads we’ve made internationally whether it’s Mallrat performing on James Corden, Tkay touring Europe with Princess Nokia or WAAX storming the U.S. college radio charts,” he explains.

Young “has been a huge part of this success,” he continues “and I look forward to continue working with her closely as she leads the team into an exciting year ahead”.

In a statement, Young says: “We are a very tight knit and passionate group and I look forward to continue working with Paul, our partners at Secret Sounds and Universal Music, and leading us into a one of our biggest release years ever”.

As part of this reshuffle, Dew Process veteran John Mullen continues as Head of A&R and Executive Producer, overseeing A&R Managers Harry Young and Nathan Wood who now takes duties for domestic A&R and international licensing.

Also, Casey Loveday earns a promotion. After joining the music company in early 2018 as Marketing Coordinator, Loveday rises to Marketing Manager.

Meanwhile, Dew Process is taking applicants for a newly-created Content & Community Coordinator position.

The staff reshuffle kicks off what’s set to be “another breakthrough year” for the label, a statement reads, with the likes of Mallrat, Tyne-James Organ and Sly Withers due to drop debut albums in 2020, along from new music from Tkay Maidza, Eves Karydas, Jack Garratt, Mumford & Sons, Tired Lion, London Grammar, Sam Fender and others.

Established 2002 in Brisbane, Dew Process boasts a second office in Sydney and is a member of the Secret Sounds Group. Its roster includes homegrown acts Kingswood, Sahara Beck and Bernard Fanning, plus internationals Mumford & Sons and others.
