Clubbing TV launches interactive livestreaming platform for DJs

Global clubbing and electronic music channel Clubbing TV has launched a new interactive livestreaming platform, Clubbing.live, specifically catering for DJ sets.

Clubbing.live was born out of frustration after popular streaming platforms – such as Twitch and YouTube – have prevented DJs from performing livestreamed sets because they don’t own the rights to the tracks they use.

“With the lockdowns, the live scene has been forced to rest, but live DJ streams have flourished all over the web on various platforms such as Facebook, Twitch, YouTube and Instagram — all of which have prompted a new wave of online creativity,” a statement read.

“Unfortunately, the new content ID policy of these platforms restrains DJs, meaning they often perform DJ sets for their followers but get cut off if they don’t own the music right of the tracks they play.

“This is a further muting of the voices of artists who are not still not allowed to play in a club, a bar or a festival for sanitary reasons – and now – even online due to copyright restrictions.”

The platform will be available to both emerging and professional DJs looking to host their sets. Performers on Clubbing.live could also be selected for broadcast on the Clubbing TV channel, which is currently aired in more than 50 countries around the world.

Clubbing.live will formally launch on November 28 with an exclusive set from French DJ Worakis.
