Channel [V] is launching a new music show for every night of the working week.

Starting on Monday April 20 at 9pm, the subscription music channel will launch five genre-based chart shows running from Monday to Friday.

Monday will be ‘Indie’, a curated mix of left-of-centre indie music; Tuesdays is the show ‘Popped’ for chart-topping and climbing pop tracks; Wednesdays will see new Channel [V] host/The Used frontman Bert McCracken host his show ‘The Re[V]olution’ for an hour of rock; Thursdays is ‘The Connect’, an hour of hip hop, RnB, rap, soul and all other urban music sub-genres; Friday is ‘The Big Mix’, an EDM and dance show beginning at 7pm before new addition DJ Generik (Tyson O’Brien) hosts 'Messed Up', an hour-long, ad-free show of dance tracks, backstage antics and interviews.

In February, the Foxtel channel launched its new direction for 2015, announcing Bert McCracken, Melbourne-born model Bambi Northwood-Blyth and DJ Generik as its new presenters. The trio joined presenters Danny Clayton, Carissa Walford and Marty Smiley. Channel [V] now offers ‘music lifestyle’ content, all-access interviews, news and festival coverage both on-air and online, and live shows.

Speaking to TMN in February, Foxtel General Manager For Music and Head of Digital Rebecca Batties teased the genre shows: “What we’re trying to do is to give people an appointment to view.”

In a statement released today, Batties said: "Our audience love all kinds of music and now Channel [V] is bringing dedicated shows to curate some of the best music from around the world from the Indie, Pop, Rock, Urban and Dance scenes. As the newest additions to our Channel [V] presenter line up, Bert and Generik will give our audiences a new level of access and insider knowledge into the worlds they know best.”
