Changes afoot as triple j and Double J announce 2018 programming

triple j and its digital sister station Double J have announced their new programming schedules for 2018.

New faces are set to feature, while some favourites are returning and others are swapping between the two stations.

triple j is set to lose its stalwart Mornings presentedZan Roweto Double J. Stepping up to take her place is current Good Nights hostLinda Mariglianowho’ll in turn be replaced by weekend hostBridget Hustwaitein the evenings.

Also set to depart is Home & Hosed presenterDom Alessioafter eight years, to be replaced byDeclan Byrne,whileHannah Reillywill depart from The Hook Up after two years as host.

A long-term favourite returns in the form ofAlex Dyson, who’ll present lunch for the first part of 2018 untilGen Frickeris cast back into the slot by the return ofVeronicaMilsom.

Milsomwill return from maternity leave to resume Drive withLewis Hobba.

The station has also revealed that it will retain Breakfast presentersBen HarveyandLiam Stapleton.

On the Double J side of thingsMyf Warhurstis set to depart from her role as the host of Double J Lunch, and is set to take up a new role on ABC Local Radio.

“It was such an honour to be part ofDouble J right from the very beginning, with the bonus of being able to share some of the most lovingly and intelligently curated music you’ll hear anywhere in the world,” said Warhurst.

While Warhurst will finish up after three and a half years, Double J will see a bunch of new presenters join their programming in the coming year.

As well as announcing yesterday that Zan Rowe will bring leave triple j to host Double J Mornings, other new programming highlightsincludeYou Am I‘sTim Rogers‘s who will head up a new show called Liquid Lunch on Fridays at 2pm.

After seven years at triple j,Gemma Pikewill begin presenting The J Files on Thursdays at 8pm, whileHau Latukefuis taking over Sky High on Fridays at 5pm.

In other changes,Tim Sheiltakes on Arvos andCaz Tranwill begin presenting Weekends.

Both triple j and Double J’s 2017 regular programming will finish up on Sun 17 Dec.
