Carla Geneve dominates WAM Awards nominations with seven nods

Albany-born singer-songwriter Carla Geneve leads the nominations for Western Australia’s WAM Awards with seven nominations.

They include best in the folk and rock act categories, best single and best guitarist.

Elsewhere on the nominations list, announced this morning, are Hyclass, Jack Davies, Jacob Diamond, Jamilla, Kate Pass and Stella Donnelly with four each.

Coming in with three are Alana Macpherson, Feels, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets and Spacey Jane.

300 industry judges will decide the winners of 30 categories, to be announced on Thursday, November 1 at the Grand Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Hotel Perth.

Five categories are for public voting, which closes at 5pm on Thursday, October 11. To cast your vote, head here.

WAM CEO Mike Harris observes, “We are blessed here in WA with such a high-quality music community and each year the job of shortlisting from within that community is really hard.”
