BTS music video reaches YouTube viewing milestones in record time
Korean boy band BTS recently released the official music video for new single ‘DNA’, and it’s already smashing records.
The video crossed 10 million views in just eight hours, making BTS the fastest K-Pop group to reach the milestone. The previous record was held by girl group Black Pink with their song ‘As If It’s Your Last’ taking 17 hours to crack the mark.
On top of this, ‘DNA’ is also the fastest K-Pop music video to reach 20 million views doing it in just over 21 hours.
24 hours after release, the video had recorded exactly 20,975,068 views, which thumps another record held by the Black Pink music video which registered 13,316,290 in the same timeframe.
The video is now ranked #11on the all-time list of most-viewed online videos in the first 24 hours on YouTube. It sits behind a number of other music videos includingAdele’s ’Hello’, PSY’s ’Gentleman’, Major Lazer’s ’Sua Cara’ ft. Anitta & Pabllo Vittar, Taylor Swift’s ’Look What You Made Me Do’, as well as the ’Despacito’ remix.
BTS’ new album Love Yourself: Her, released on September 18, occupies #1 position on the iTunes Albums Chart in more than 70 regions including Australia. ‘DNA’ is at #13 on the iTunes Singles Chart.

The albums sees the group collaborate with The Chainsmokers on lead track ’Best Of Me’. One half of the duoAndrew Taggartco-wrote and produced the single.
