Brisbane’s music industry showcase BIGSOUND has revealed its first announcement of performers for 2019.

Tones and I, Bad//Dreems, Electric Fields, Milan Ring, Tasman Keith, yergurl, EGOISM lead the first group of of 76 artists announced.

The number will balloon to 150 musicians, who’ll perform across a whopping 18 stages for QMusic-produced BIGSOUND in Fortitude Valley this September.

They’ll be joined by 200 talent scouts from around the world looking for the next big thing, as well as representatives from across the Aussie music industry.

BIGSOUND has also revealed more details about the new Artist Village, a space for performers to relax and network throughout the four days.

Open from 10am-4pm daily, the Artist Village has the option of free accommodation, as well as a conference live stream, artist workshops, safe zone with mental health counsellors, informal interview spaces, instrument repair store, hair and makeup salon, rehearsal room and brand networking opportunities.

“The BIGSOUND Artist Village has turned our festival up to eleven with this game-changing initiative designed to look after showcasing artists,” said QMusic CEO Angela Samut.

“The Artist Village was announced to all showcasing artists and was fully booked in 24 hours with a wait list,” Ms Samut said.

“We look forward to welcoming BIGSOUND artists to the Village where they can relax, rehearse and with the potential to form new collaborations.”

BIGSOUND recently revealed its first speaker announcement, unveiling Terry McBride from Canada’s Nettwerk Music as the keynote.
