BIGSOUND announces director reshuffles for live & conference programs

BIGSOUND has kicked off with a bang as Shihad’s Tom Larkin announces as conference programmer while twnty three director Melody Forghani and Double J’s Tim Shiel have been announced as the new Festival co-programers for next year’s conference.

Current festival producer Jonny Ruddy, executive festival programmer Maggie Collins and executive festival producer Joel Edmondson will be continuing.

“All roles will be Maggie’s direction as executive programmer, with Tom looking after conference and Melody and Tim looking after festival duties,” Stephen Green told TMN this morning.

Larkin has previously acted as Shihad’s manager and producer, owns Melbourne-based studio The Studios In The City, and a management company called Homesurgery who have worked with The Butterfly Effect, Young and Restless, Closure In Moscow and more.

An independent artist manager, Sydney-based Forghani has worked with Vallis Alps on management duties, as well as managing PR for Seekae, Pieater and Volumes Festival.

Prior to launching twnty three, she worked at Bossy Music and currently produces the Tuesday Arvos program with Christopher Twite on FBi Radio.

Shiel is well known as the voice of triple j’s Something More and Double J’s Arvos program. He has also toured with Goyte (Wally De Backer) and in 2014 launched the record label Spirit Level in partnership with De Backer.
