Batpiss and Dan Sultan Take Out Top Spots In The Community Radio Charts

The Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts provide insight into what’s gaining airplay and attention on community radio. The charts show the top ten tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through the Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service. This week Batpiss move into #1 in the Amrap Metro Chart, with Dan Sultan also rising to the #1 position in the Amrap Regional Chart.

Batpiss move into #1 in the Amrap Metro Chart with their driving rock track Paralyzed. Courtney Barnett takes out #2 in both the Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Chart this week, with How To Boil An Egg. Cable Ties debut in the Amrap Metro Chart at #3 with Say What You Mean. Major Leagues make their debut at #3 in the Amrap Regional Chart, whilst also appearing at #8 in the Amrap Metro Chart with Good Love. The charting track, which depicts the connection between Aboriginal women and country, appears on RTRFM Perth’s Sound Selection, with further airplay from 2XX FM in ACT, Northside Radio FM in NSW, Noosa Community Radio in QLD, Three D Radio in SA, RTRFM in WA, Yolngu Radio and PAW Radio in NT as well as PBS FM, Whitehorse Boroondara Community Radio, Triple H, 96.5 Inner FM and WMA fm in VIC.

Winston Surfshirt move up to #4 in the Amrap Regional Chart, with latest single Ali D. The groove-heavy disco-electro-soul track was included on SYN Radio Melbourne’s Sweet 16, FBi Radio Sydney’s New Music List, alongside further airplay from 2XX FM in ACT, 6HFM, Radio Goolarri and Albany Community Radio in WA, Noosa FM, Fraser Coast FM, Radio 4EB and 4YOU in QLD, WOW FM, Fleurieu FM, Radio Alexandrina, and 5 Triple Z in SA, 96.5 Inner FM, 3WBC, OCR FM, 3CR, 3NRG and 3MGB Wilderness Radio in VIC, as well as 2EAR FM, TLC-FM, 2BOB Radio, 2RRR, Nambucca Valley Radio, Northside Radio, Bay FM, Coast FM and NimFM in NSW.

Love Deluxe debuts in the Amrap Metro Chart at #5 with Cool Breeze Over The Mountains. Love Deluxe joined Johnny and Lauren on Spin The Bottle on FBi Radio Sydney, where he guest programmed the show, and also spoke of being signed to Soothsayer and playing in punk-rock bands during high school. Pond has taken out #5 in the Amrap Regional Chart for the second week running, with the track Paint Me Silver, which features vocals from Kirin J Callinan. The Owls are charting at #6 in the Amrap Metro Chart, with their garage-rock hit Jesus Let Me Fly. Josh from the Newcastle based band joined the Sunday Sweets crew on SYN Radio Melbourne to speak about the release of their first single since the band went on their hiatus. He also delved into the Newcastle music scene, the band’s disastrous trips to Melbourne and the new video clip for the single. Melbourne’s Ainslie Wills enters the Amrap Metro Chart at #7 with the single Running Second. The enthralling pop-rock track has been added to FBi Radio’s New Music List and SYN’s Sweet 16, with additional airplay from Bay FM in QLD, 2EAR FM and 2AIR in NSW, 5 Triple Z and Tribe FM in SA, City Park Radio and Star FM in TAS as well as 3WBC, 98.9 North West FM, UGFM – Radio Murrinindini and 96.5 Inner FM in VIC.

Briggs appears in the Amrap Regional Chart for the fourth week, with Here Featuring Caiti Baker currently taking out #7. The jazz infused blues-roots track has amassed radio airplay from ArtSound FM in ACT, Heritage FM in WA, Coast FM in QLD, City Park Radio and Star FM in TAS, 5 Triple Z, Fleurieu FM, Tribe FM and Radio Alexandrina in SA, 3WBC, 979fm, 98.9 North West FM, 3MGB, Yarra Valley FM and 99.9 Voice FM in VIC as well as 2 EAR FM, TLC-FM, 2AIR, 2EAR FM, Bay FM, Coast FM and Nambucca Valley Radio in NSW.

Screamfeeder take out #9 in the Amrap Metro Chart during their fourth charting week with the track Half Lies. Screamfeeder’s album Pop Guilt features on Triple R Melbourne’s Soundscapes. Melbourne based duo Heat Wave appear in the Amrap Metro Chart for the third week, currently holding onto #10 with The Man. Heat Wave dropped by The Grapevine on Triple R Melbourne to perform tracks from their debut full-length Dead Beats. Heat Wave’s album was The Breakfast Spread’s Feature Album of the Week on PBS FM Melbourne, alongside being included in Triple R’s Soundscapes and 4ZZZ Brisbane’s Top 20. The garage-punk track The Man has earned radio airplay from 2BACR FM in NSW, CAAMA in NT, Fraser Coast FM in QLD, HFM and Wangki Radio in WA, 5 Triple Z, Fleurieu FM and Three D Radio in SA, as well as Main FM, OCR FM, 3CR and 3MDR in VIC.

Tania Kernaghan debuts at #10 in the Amrap Regional Chart with Light In The Window. The melancholic country track has amassed community radio airplay from HUON FM in TAS, Voice of the Avon, Heritage FM, and Radio Mama in WA, Bay FM, Noosa Community Radio, Fraser Coast Community Radio and Gin Gin’s Own in QLD, 5 Triple Z, Fleurieu FM, Umeewarra Media, Radio Alexandrina and Coast FM in SA, 979fm, 3WAY-FM, Triple H FM, 99.9 Voice FM and 3RPC in VIC as well as 2NVR, STA FM, The Voice of Goulburn, Orange FM and 2AAA-FM in NSW.
