Australian country crossover star Morgan Evans goes gold, drops new video

Warner Music Nashville signee Morgan Evans has released a music video of his hit single ‘Kiss Somebody’, shot in Melbourne and Sydney during his recent promo trip back home.

‘Kiss Somebody’ is currently #2 on the TMN Country Airplay Chart and peaked at #30 on the TMN Hot 100 following additions from the Nova Network.

“I’ve been playing music here a long time and when we put this song out, I guess it was seven or eight weeks now, I got the reports back that radio was playing it here, and not just country radio, pop radio, and all these stations, including ones that I grew up listening to in Newcastle,” Evans tells TMN.

‘Kiss Somebody’ also peaked at #10 on the Australian iTunes Chart and has now reached ARIA Gold sales and is fast approaching 100 million streams on Spotify.

“To get all the emails and text messages from my friends over the last couple of months, and now to go in and meet the people that are making that happen, it’s been awesome.”.

When told his single had “gone Gold” in Australia, Evans was thrilled. “That’s the best news! It means a lot to have my Gold single first at home in Australia!”

Evans, who is now based in Nashville and engaged to Kelsea Ballerini, will return in December to perform at Rockin Rocky Qld along with The McClymonts and James Johnston on Saturday, December 30.

He’s also joining James Blunt on his 2018 national tour, supporting Blunt’s headline shows in both Sydney and Melbourne next year.
