Aussies among the highest streamers of ‘Stranger Things’ music
‘Should I Stay Or Should I Go’ by The Clash features prominently on the show.

The soundtrack to hit Netflix Original Stranger Things has helped the show make a name for itself worldwide.

Now Spotify has revealed that Australia is in the Top 10 countries that most-stream music from the show, which has clocked 17 million hours globally since the launch in 2016.

Australia came in 9th spot, with the US, UK and Mexico making up the top three streaming countries.

The most-streamed track is ‘Should I Stay Or Should I Go’ by The Clash. The track was a key part of season one, and global streams went up 30% in the two weeks following the premiere of that season.

The Clash track was #1 most-streamed, ahead of even the main theme by Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein.

Other tracks in the top ten include songs by The Police (‘Every Breath You Take’), Toto (‘Africa’) and Cyndi Lauper (‘Time After Time’).

Aussie producer Luke Million’s remix of the Stranger Things theme has almost 2.5 million streams on its own.

Spotify also has 15 Stranger Things-themed podcasts, which have clocked 4.6 million listening hours across them.

Season three comes out in July, so streams should really ramp up ahead of the launch on July 4.
