Aussie Promoter’s Golden WAMi Award Stripped, Final Life Is Noise Act Cancels Aussie Tour

Former Life Is Noise tour promoter and co-owner David Cutbush has been stripped of his Golden WAMi by the WA Music Industry Association.

The West Australian reports the association will take the unprecedented move, to strip Cutbush of its top annual honour for contribution to the local music industry, which was awarded to him in 2012.

“In light of the recent news and ongoing allegations against David Cutbush, WAM has decided to revoke theGolden WAMiaward of which Mr Cutbush was the recipient in 2012,” said WAM in a statement on Facebook.

“WAM does not support this type of behaviour not only in the music industry but across many facets of today’s everyday life.

“WAM is taking steps to address issues such as these and support all individuals and groups that are doing so, and support actions like the#meTooand#MeNoMorecampaigns which are bringing these issues into the public sphere.”

Afterallegations of sexual misconduct towards multiple women emerged late last week, director of Life Is Noise Jack Midalia confimed that Cutbush had been fired form the touring company.

Following the official cancellation of Cutbush-promoted Australian tours by Chelsea Wolfe and Sleep, Life Is Noisehas now confirmed that the final upcoming tour by Wolves In The Throne Room has now been cancelled.

David Cutbush has issued a statement of apology, addressing the allegations against him and admitting “innapropriate and sleezy” behaviour.
