Audio Network launches local A&R operations

PRESS RELEASE:

Audio Network, the leading global music company, has announced the launch of A&R activities in Australia and New Zealand to find, develop and promote musical talent in the region.

Jordan Smith, who currently holds the role of Head of Branded Content at Audio Network, will also become A&R Manager, Australia & New Zealand, to lead and grow the new department.

Audio Network offers a complete music solution for content creators by cutting through the traditionally complex and costly processes of licensing music. The company works with world-class composers, artists and musicians and all of its 100,000+ high quality, authentically produced tracks are pre-cleared globally for multiple formats.

Jordan Smith oversees all music sync collaborations within the Australian and New Zealand territories across the Corporate and Advertising industries. He has licenced music for major local and international brands including Samsung, Volkswagen, Nike, Pedestrian.TV, Qantas, BMW and Bonds. In his extended role encompassing A&R, he will be drawing on his extensive knowledge of the sync market as well as his background in music management to build the local repertoire and continue to add to Audio Network’s current roster of 700+ international composers.

Jay Greenwood, Head Of A&R for Audio Network says “As a global business it’s vital that we have an A&R strategy which allows us to identify and sign the best new artists and composers wherever they are. We pride ourselves in working with writers and musicians around the world to ensure our music is authetically produced across a range of international and local genres. We believe our clients want the best music for their productions. As both an accomplished sync music executive and composer, Jordan is ideally placed to spearhead A&R in Australia and New Zealand and we’re delighted to have him on board.”

Smith commented, “Launching A&R in Australia and New Zealand is a huge opportunity to collaborate with amazing artists and composers on our innovative islands. It’s also an opportunity for us to open Audio Network’s global platform to local artists and composers and broaden their revenue streams.”

Audio Network works with leading artists and producers such as Cenzo Townsend (Kaiser Chiefs, Florence + the Machine, Friendly Fires) and Tom Rosenthal, whose single Go Solo has 9m+ streams on Spotify.

Sydney band Tenderfoot has also recently signed with Audio Network, which released their first EP Beginnings in August 2016. This deal also sees funding for the band’s debut full-length record, and the opportunity to record at London’s famous Abbey Road Studios. The band will be working closely with UK songwriter/producer Julian Emery (Nothing But Thieves, Lissie, McFly, Simple Plan). Rosenthal and Tenderfoot are both alumni of Audio Network’s highly successful Undiscovered series.

Undiscovered showcases the freshest & brightest talent found around the globe, releasing their music into Audio Network’s catalogue for licensing worldwide.

The A&R team will continue to build on the success of this series as it works with new local artists & composers.
