Applications open for EMC’s showcase program EMCPlay

Applications for artists wishing to perform at EMCPlay, a program of showcase events held as part of the Electronic Music Conference, are now open for 2015.

Fast becoming Australia’s premiere electronic music showcase platform,in 2014 EMCPlay took over various Kings Cross venues across two nights, providing over 120 Australian artists a career-changing opportunity to perform in front of over 2,000 international talent buyers, media, industry and fans.

In 2015 the EMCPlay returns as an even bigger one-night event onWednesday December 2nd, with venues and other details to be announced soon.Respected Agent Dayna Young also joins the EMC team as EMCPlay Programmer.

"I am thrilled to be curating the EMCPlay 2015 program”, said Dayna Young. "Our country produces some of the most exceptional, and creative talent in the world, and I couldn’t be more excited to work with the EMC team raising awareness of Australian electronic music artists!”

Young will be supported by the EMC programming committee, which in 2015 includes John Course, Peking Duk publicist Anna Fitzgerald, former Stereosonic boss Richie McNeill, Jamie Raeburn of Sweat It Out, Jess Krishnaswamy of BBE, Andrew Jackson and Jane Slingo.

Artists wishing to showcase at EMCPlay are invited to apply on the EMC website from today. Selected artists will get the opportunity to perform for fans and industry members as well as some of the world’s biggest talent buyers who will be brought to Australia as part of EMC’s Incoming Visitor Program. In 2014 guests of the program included Donnie Estopinal (Disco Donnie Presents/SFX), Gary Richards (Hard LA/Live Nation) and Latane Hughes (Windish Agency).

EMC is also pleased to announce that the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW, is returning as a key strategic partner of the event with the aim of helping to grow the event, and attracting interstate and international visitors and creative professionals to NSW.

The first announcement of venues and artists set to perform at EMC Play will be announced in August, with tickets on sale early September.

Delegate passes for EMC are currently on sale via Eventbrite starting at $199 and include priority access to all EMCPlay events.
