Amrap Chart Wrap – Hiatus Kaiyote and Uncle Jeffrey top Community Radio Charts

The Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts provide insight into what’s gaining airplay and attention on community radio. The charts show the Top 10 tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through the Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service. This week sees Hiatus Kaiyote debut at #1 in the Metro Chart while Uncle Jeffrey have climbed the ranks to reach the top spot in the Regional Chart.

Melbourne neo-soul quartet Hiatus Kaiyote (pictured)have entered the Amrap Metro Chart at #1 with the polyrhythmic single Shaolin Monk Motherfunk. Their new record Choose your Weapon is blitzing the airwaves of metropolitan community stations, picking up Feature Album at SYN Melbourne and RTR FM Perth, Album of the Week at Triple R Melbourne, Packet Album at FBi Radio Sydney, a spot on 2Ser Sydney’s Servin’ Up list and #2 in 4ZZZ Brisbane’s Top 20. The band caught up with Triple R’s Ennio Styles earlier this month, chatting about their beginnings, the new album and dreams of getting Christopher Walken to play the cowbell. Uncle Jeffrey have risen to #1 on the Amrap Regional Chart, having debuted at #9 last week with the summery pop single Something Cheesy. The young Perth grouphave received airplay in regional areas across Australia on Monaro FM in NSW, Inner FM in VIC, Cairns FM in QLD, 5GTR in SA, Noongar Radio in WA and 8CCC in the NT.

Upskirts return to the Amrap Metro Chart at #2 with the reverb-ridden Nothing Happens in Roseville. The track has achieved rotation at FBi Radio Sydney and SYN Melbourne with additional airplay in every state and territory at stations including Valley FM in Canberra and Brisbane, 8CCC Alice Springs, 5THE in SA, Radio Goolarri in WA, Edge Radio Hobart, 2SEA, Yass FM, and Monaro FM in NSW and Voice FM, Radio Upper Murray, RPP FM and 3MDR in VIC.

Morgan Bain continues his solid run in the Amrap Charts this week, coming in at #2 in the Regional Chart and #3 in the Metro Chart with the alternative soul track Why Don’t You Stay. Check out the official music clip featured via Amrap Pages at stations across the eastern states including 3MDR in VIC, Edge Radio Hobart, 4ZZZ Brisbane and 2RRR Sydney as well as one of Australia’s foremost new Australian music programs Home Brew, broadcast across the Community Radio Network each week.

#4 in the Metro Chart goes to Sydney artist, poet, filmmaker and rock musician Angie with the first taste of her forthcoming record Out of Age. The single has picked up rotation at FBi Radio Sydney, RTR FM Perth and SYN Melbourne. Brisbane former rocker Jeremy Neale takes #7 in the Regional Chart and #8 in the Metro Chart with Hold On Together, featuring Phoebe Imhoff. The RnB duet has garnered airplay at stations across Australia including Nambucca Valley Radio in NSW, Bay FM in QLD, Radio Upper Murray in VIC, Radio Adelaide in SA and Noongar Radio in WA. Blue Mountains electro duo Hermitude debut at #10 in the Amrap Metro Chart with their new single The Buzz. With jolting synths and a euphoric drop, the track has amassed airplay on 4ZZZ Brisbane, Wangki Radio in WA, 5YYY and 5GTR in SA and Vox FM, 2SSR, 2EAR and FBi Radio in NSW. Their new record Dark Night Sweet Light is featured in 2Ser’s Servin’ Up list and is currently Album of the Week on FBi Radio.
